Lake effect Cycling

"Wow!  I can't believe its been 34 years that I have been cycling! It was 1986 that I heard the Holy Spirit say, "sell your Kawasaki 454 motorcycle and buy a bicycle with the money and see what I will do through you".  Most people  usually do it the opposite way!  I only had the Kawasaki for about two years.  So the motorcycle was sold and a brand new pedal bike arrived in its place.

From that moment on, cycling was now all about helping others that were in need as I peddled down the road.   Lake Effect Cycle and Cycle For Kids would soon become the center focus of my cycling career.

Though these ministries, much was accomplished for the Kingdom of God.  Over $50,000 was raised for the suffering children of Kosovo, two sixteen passenger ministry vans were purchased for the youth of Ashtabula County and multiple fundraisers that raised over $350,000 to provide resources to  hurting families of Ashtabula County and beyond.

Today, these ministries strongly continue through the Ashtabula Dream Center.  Cycle for Kids has been in existence for 20 years and provides free bicycles to all ages. Our repair shop is open Spring through Fall , in addition to safety training and free helmets.

For the last several years, I have dedicated my birthday to fundraising for the Ashtabula Dream Center.  These birthday rides have been a highlight of my cycling career, by riding my "age" in miles.  On September 18, 2020 ,which is my birthday, I will be riding 59 miles.  On September 18, 2021, which will be my 60th birthday,  my cycling career for fundraising will be my last event.  Make plans now to join me and the Ashtabula Dream Center team and celebrate the goodness and faithfulness of God!"
